Dissertation Proposal

My dissertation proposal is complete and signatures collected! You can find a .PDF of the proposal here. Actually, it has been complete for awhile and I am just now getting a chance to post a note about it. The official title is Learning Objects: A User-centered Design Process. For those who have not been following my posts, it is a formative research approach to building an ISD process for using learning objects in a corporate setting.

This will be a production level model (see Guftason and Branch's Survey of Instructional Development Models) but will have elements of a full systems model.

Because I am utilizing an emergent approach in a real-world setting, I am not really sure exactly what I will get. I am taking a few basic principles and trying to see how instructional designers can become more efficient and effective with a user-centered and OOID approach.

I will be presenting on this work at AECT on Saturday Oct. 23 at 10:45am. Session info is on the AECT site. (Search for presenter last name branon, I could not direct link to the session info).

Now back to work!
